There should be no taxes on churches because it violates church and state. In the first amendment of the constitution it clearly says that church and state should stay separate. If churches have to pay taxes then they are not staying separate from state. This violates the first amendment and therefore it should remain tax exempt. Side: No. It violates church/state.
Churches have so much money that if they started to pay taxes, it would do more good than if they kept the money in their own coffers. This money allowed the catholic church to pay off people when priests were accused of sexual molestation, which kept it going on for decades. Side: Yes. The money helps people.
